Bloomington Area Slow Hiking Club
Please join Indiana Forest Alliance this Sunday, December 12th [rain date: December 19th], for the first of our Second Sunday Slow Hikes, a wonderful opportunity to mosey through the forest with good friends. "Slow" hiking simply entails that we will fully take our time, enjoying fellowship and good conversation, taking pictures, sharing knowledge, and marveling in the wondrous woods surrounding us.
We will meet at the Eco-Center (at 323 S. Walnut, between 2nd and 3rd streets) at noon to carpool to the Deam Wilderness Area, where we will be hiking the Hayes Trail. We plan to be back at the Eco-Center around 3:00pm. The Hayes Trail is listed as moderately rugged. Note that the snow cover will make the narrowly benched ridge climbs found along the trail adventurous.
Note that hunting season is still open, folks! If you plan to come out, dress for the weather and wear bright colors and avoid wearing white, blue, and brown, just to be safe. Bring water and a snack for the hike.
We hope to see your warmly-dressed self and all of your friends this coming Sunday! Email Brian at ifa.director@gmail.com for more information.
